The DMH Cancer Care Institute offers free support groups for individuals with cancer, families, and caregivers to share feelings, thoughts, and information. Registration is not necessary. Meetings are held at the Cancer Care Center of Decatur, 210 W. McKinley Ave. Please park in the back and enter through the Complementary Medicine Education Classroom door. Cancer Support Groups
Brain Tumor group is a special support group for patients diagnosed with benign or malignant brain tumors. The group meets every month on the third Saturday at 10 am, January – October.
Central Illinois UsTOO is a support group for Prostate Cancer patients and care givers. The group meets at 4:30 pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month. View UsToo Brochure
Facing Cancer Together is a support group for all cancer patients and care givers. The group meets at 1:30 pm on the second Wednesday of each month.
Pink Link is a support group for breast cancer patients. The group meets at 6pm on the second Thursday of each month.
HIM (Helping Inquiring Men) provides one-on-one assistance to newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients. For more information, call 217-876-4735.

Strength For The Journey a five week informational series for cancer patients and caregivers. The program is designed to provide education, information, and support to cancer patients and their family members to empower them through their journey.

Grief Support Groups
DMH Cancer Care Institute offers free bereavement support groups for family members who have lost a loved one. Groups are open to anyone in the community. Registration is preferred. For more information, call 217-876-4735.
Growing Through Grief, a five-week series for adults; meets February/March, June/July, October/November. Class discussion includes:
- Learning about grief
- Taking care of yourself
- Looking to your faith for comfort
- Working through unresolved feelings
Resources for Grief Support
Renewal meets at 6 pm on the fourth Monday of each month. A monthly bereavement support group for family members who have lost a loved one.
Helping Hands, a support group for children ages five to 15, meets Thursdays after school, 3:30-4:30 pm, August-May.
