Oncology Social Workers
Social workers are available to our patients and families throughout their cancer experience. Our team of trained and licensed social workers provides counseling for emotional support, practical needs, community resources, financial assistance, and more.

Social Workers can assist with:

  • Distress screening to identify needs
  • Brief and supportive counseling for patient and families
  • Adjustment to illness
  • Crisis intervention
  • Coping skills to help reduce stress
  • Family meetings
  • Communication with healthcare team
  • Accessing community resources
  • Quality of life issues
  • Advance Directives- Healthcare Power of Attorney and Living Will

Referral Information
To meet with an Oncology Social Worker, ask your doctor or nurse for a referral. Social Workers are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, except holidays. Services are free.
