How do I know the extent of the disease?

Your medical team will have access to the latest tools and techniques including tomosynthesis, ultrasound, breast MRI, PET scan and tissue and blood testing to thoroughly locate and evaluate the cancer.

What are my next steps?

Trained patient navigators are your resource and advocate, communicating with your multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, provide support and education to you and your family. 

What will my treatment be?

Medical experts from specialized fields of surgery, radiology, pathology, medical oncology and radiation oncology review all patients diagnosed with breast cancer to develop individualized comprehensive care plans that
may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy or breast
reconstruction surgery.

Are clinical trials available?

The clinical research team at DMH works diligently to improve the health status and quality of life for cancer patients by providing local access to state-of-the-art prevention and treatment trials.

What support services are available?

During and after your treatment we offer support groups, physical therapy, lymphedema therapy, nutrition consultation, social and pastoral services. We also offer mastectomy, bra and prosthesis fittings.

What will my life be like after cancer?

Our survivorship program helps you and your family transition from the end of active cancer care to optimal wellness after treatment. 

Our experienced team of mammography specialists, surgeons, oncologists, nurses, patient navigators and more, provide better outcomes compared to national averages according to the National Cancer Database of the Commission on Cancer.

We work together to guide each breast cancer patient through their journey – from testing and diagnosis to treatment and survivorship, right here in our community. We are here to care for your physical and emotional well-being, with a holistic, compassionate and customized approach to meet individual needs, using the latest screening, diagnostic, and treatment tools.
