Decatur Memorial Hospital and Crossing Healthcare have partnered together to form an access clinic for the community called Crossing at DMH. The clinic is located adjacent to the DMH Emergency Care Center and provides primary care services to non-emergent patients who have Medicaid or are uninsured.

All people presenting to DMH seeking care will be screened for the level of care most appropriate for their health concern.

Crossing Healthcare at DMH is open Monday through Friday 9am-8pm, and Saturday 9am-6pm, and is staffed by a physician or Advanced Practice Provider, a nurse and a clerical employee

Crossing Healthcare is designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) approve federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in an effort to provide easier access to care, to help realign resources and to hopefully redirect longterm patterns of access to care. FQHCs must provide care for an underserved area or population.
