Technology Worth a Million Words
- Philips Precedence SPECT/CT
DMH offers the Philips Precedence SPECT/CT system, which provides three-dimensional computerized images that show actual metabolic body function deep within the body. The technology expands diagnostic and screening capabilities by combining nuclear medicine with multi-slice CT imaging to obtain more advanced clinical images. This technology may help lead to potentially life-saving treatment options or rule out serious medical conditions.
- GE LGE LightSpeed VCT 64 Slice Scanner
As of July 2005, DMH is one of only 65 hospitals in American offering diagnostic technology with the world’s fastest CT scanning device-the GELightSpeed VCT-64 Slice Scanner-which non-invasively and painlessly captures an image of a whole organ in one second, the heart in five seconds, or a head to toe scan in 10 seconds.
The 64 Slice creates 64 images of the body, and the images can be viewed almost instantaneously as either a single slice, or as a three-dimensional model, advancing the diagnosis of heart attack, pulmonary embolism, cancer, heart disease, stroke and traumatic injury. - LightSpeed CT
Decatur Memorial Hospital offers patients at all our locations a fast CT scan with the LightSpeed computed tomography (CT) system, which provides highly detailed images of the body, and more accurate diagnosis.
