In addition to the simulation lab at Decatur Memorial Hospital, our nurse anesthesia students have access to the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation (MCLI) as part of their training. MCLI is a state-of-the-art Simulation Center that provides learners the opportunity to develop their skills through simulation and skills training.
The simulated settings include: a nurses station, patient care room, operating room, emergency treatment and trauma rooms, specialty patient care room that doubles as a labor and delivery room or an intensive care suite, patient exam room, and many others.
Our program utilizes MCLI’s dynamic classroom with four patient exam bays, high fidelity mannequins (with ability to record audio and video for debrief), two debrief rooms for viewing and discussing completed simulations, two clinical classroom spaces for clinical education offerings, and collaboration spaces for small meetings or teamwork.
