April 17—“Coping With Side Effects of Treatment”

The DMH Cancer Care Institute presents a six week informational series for cancer patients and caregivers: Strength For the Journey. The program is designed to provide education, information, and support to cancer patients and their family members to empower them through their journey.

The program will be led by DMH Oncology Social Worker Leslie Roberts. “No one should have to go through the journey alone. Hope is living with courage and confidence, not fear.”

The program meets from 10—11:30 am on Tuesdays, April 10—May 15 at Cancer Care Center, 210 W. McKinley Ave. Topics include—
– April 10—“DMH Cancer Care Center Services and Community Resources”
– April 17—“Coping With Side Effects of Treatment”
– April 24—“Drawing on Your Spiritual Faith for Strength”
– May 1— “Eat Right to Help the Fight”
– May 8— “Maintaining Healthy Exercise”
– May 15—“Patient and Caregiver Panel Discussion”
