DMH Diabetes Education Center to Hold Free Monthly Support Groups
March 15, 2018…Decatur, Ill… The DMH Diabetes Education Center will begin hosting a new Diabetes Support group every third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., starting March 21 at DMH Family Medicine, 4775 E. Maryland St., Decatur. You can also visit our daytime support group every third Wednesday from 11 a.m. to Noon at the DMH Diabetes Education Center.
This monthly event is free and open to anyone interested in learning how to manage diabetes. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or whether if you’ve had diabetes for many years, our support group can help you manage your diabetes. Each meeting focuses on a different topic with opportunities to learn, share and ask questions.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear educational presentations, gather information on a variety of topics related to diabetes and meet others who are also learning how to live with diabetes. Knowledge and support play a vital role in controlling diabetes. Topics include general diabetes information, acute and chronic complications, exercise, nutrition and sexuality, coping skills and problem solving.
11:30 a.m. to Noon at DMH Campus and 5:30 p.m. at DMH Family Medicine
