DMH Women’s Breast Health Education Benefits From Golf Tournament Proceeds
December 23, 2015…Checks totaling $7,794.00 were presented to Decatur Memorial Foundation recently from the South Side Country Club Ladies 9 and 18-hole golf leagues with funds raised during their recent golf tournament.
These funds will be used for the Mammography Initiative (no-cost screening mammograms to women who meet the financial guidelines), the Pink Link Breast Cancer Support Group, and breast cancer research in Decatur and Macon County. Decatur Memorial Hospital is a research affiliate with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and is currently involved in more than 130 research trials.
The golf tournament hosted 35 golfers to South Side Country Club on Sept. 9, 2015, raising a total of $7,794.00. According to Co-Chair of the tournament, Jan Miller, the event has raised a total of $283,384.48 over the past 17 years.
