Remember Loved Ones With Holiday Lights At Decatur Memorial Hospital
Nov. 13, 2019…DECATUR, Ill…Remember your loved one with a holiday light at Decatur Memorial Hospital. For each $10 donation, a light will be designated to shine at DMH through the holiday season outside Barnes Lobby. You will also receive a remembrance card with your loved one’s name written in calligraphy as a keepsake.
Since 1990, the hospital’s landscaping glows with hundreds of white lights; each shining light symbolizing the life of a loved one both past and present.
At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5 in Barnes Lobby at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur Memorial Foundation will host One Light to Remember, a lighting ceremony to commemorate and honor loved ones. The event begins with performances by Millikin University’s A Cappella Choir; First Presbyterian Church Bells on Wheels and Millikin University’s Concert Youth Chorale performing in Barnes Lobby. Remembrance cards and refreshments will be in the hospital’s Volunteer Lobby.
DMH president and CEO Drew Early will speak at 6:15 p.m., followed by DMH chaplain Robert Henderson, D. Min. offering a prayer.
Following the reception and entertainment, there will be holiday carols and a lighting ceremony outdoors.
